Some of the attributes of being a great receptionist consist of: having a positive attitude; possessing good listening skills; exercising effective communication; being able to work under pressure; and having excellent organizational skills. Linda Smalley, one of our receptionists at our distribution center, meets all of these requirements and more!

Prior to joining our team in January 2017, Linda was a receptionist in the financing business for 13 years, banking business for 20 years, and the automotive business for 10 years. Her skills came as a great asset for our company, but it is her personality and disposition that makes all the difference.

Linda says, “I love working with people and for people. I love serving our customers.” Additionally, she adds, “Not everyone is good with customers, but one thing we all must do is listen to the customer.”

Dwayne Arceneaux, Distribution Center Manager of Home Furniture Plus Bedding, says, “From Day one, Mrs. Linda has been a breath of fresh air within our facility and our company. Born and raised in Lafayette, LA, Linda resides there with Frank, her husband of 58 years.

While her main hobbies are spending time with her family and shopping, Linda also stays busy with her involvement in her Pokeno Club, the Altar Society of her church along with being a member of the Ladies of Knights of Columbus, and of course, keeping up with the LSU Tigers.
